Halloween is a fun and festive holiday to celebrate with the family. It ushers in the beginning of the holiday season and is the perfect reason to pull out your fall decor. Since everyone is still indoors for the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s no better reason than to decorate and appreciate this holiday.
We love repurposing items from around the house, other holidays, and making the best of what you have. Remember, building an ambiance isn’t so much about how much money you spend but about the intention and key aspects to help you achieve that overall look each season or holiday.
So without further ado, let’s jump right into it….
Go ahead, you know you want to. Pull out those clear Christmas lights and wrap them around a bunch of pumpkins and gourds for a quick and festive look. It’s easy, simple, cheerful, and most of all – hopefully free – if you already have some string lights from Christmas hanging around.
All White Candles
Black and red candles are all the rage during Halloween, but we think having a nice bunch of simple white candle sticks is a classy and elegant way to build a cohesive look throughout your home. You can easily pick up all white candle sticks from the Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target or Amazon.
Halloween Planner & Schedule
Decorating for the holidays is made more fun with our October Halloween Daily Planner. It’s a fun and whimsical way to add to your daily planner. Our printable planners are premium, so the letter size (8.5in x 11in) is an editable PDF. This means that every morning, you can wake up, open your planner, type in your plans for the day, print it, check it off and add notes as you go along!
Dried Herbs & Spices
A final way we like to decorate during Halloween is with dried herbs and spices. You can buy cinnamon sticks in a big pack and put then in a decorative bowl. Also, try wrapping the cinnamon sticks around a medium size candle with a twig. It’s so cute and festive in the kitchen.
How are you celebrating Halloween this year? It’s not the safest for the kids to go out and trick-or-treat during the pandemic, but decorating indoors, bringing some whimsy into our lives, and making the time to bring about the holiday season is a great optimistic way to approach every day. Enjoy!
