Some places our customers have used to print their items: Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Sam’s Club, Walgreens, VistaPrint, Shutterstock, Minted, CVS, FedEx/Kinkos, MinuteMan Press, etc.
Paper finish describes the surface or texture of a sheet of paper or cardstock. Finish affects the look and feel of the paper, but more importantly, it can impact printability and absorbency by dictating how the sheet will take ink. This is especially important for print and graphic designers and photographers. Examples of this include, uncoated, matte, glossy, linen, UV gloss coated, sating, pearl, and more.
Paper quality plays an important role when printing at home, especially when it comes to wall art. Overall, we recommend a bright white, heavy weight paper stock for all planners, schedules, and wall art.
At stores like Staples and Office Depot, you can purchase paper types in different colors, finishes, and weights. Speaking with an employee there may help, however here are some quick guides.
Paper normally comes in three categories: standard (20lb), mid (22 – 24 lb) or heavy (23 – 32). The Lb isn’t to indicate how heavy the piece of paper is, but more so the thickness and touch on the hand. If you’ve ever felt a nice, firm, piece of resume paper then you know what we mean.
