Beauty Review: Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

I was browsing through the aisles of CVS one summer day when they were promoting these Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads from Nip + Fab.  I’m not usually a big fan of cleansing pads.  I find that using liquid formulas on my hands with water give me a better feeling of being ‘clean,’ but I figured I’d go ahead and try it.

The main culprit?  The marketing of the glycolic ingredient really drew my attention and made me curious enough to commit.  Glycolic acid in its raw state is a powder made up of colorless crystals that have no scent.  It’s a naturally occurring substance used in skincare products because it’s rejuvenating and moisturizing.  You’ll typically find glycolic acid in beauty products to treat scarring, skin discoloration and signs of aging.

Summary

I used the product for 30 days in the evenings after cleansing my face and before my toner and moisturizer.  Although I really wanted to believe that it was working, I did not get the results promised by the brand.  I’m not saying it won’t work for you, but it didn’t do anything for my skin other than make it feel refreshed. After analysis from my trusty beauty testing partner (a.k.a my husband, Chris) we both came to the conclusion that it didn’t improve my fine lines or discoloration.  Chris takes his job very seriously since he was a biology major geek in college and deals with biology and chemistry on a professional level.

The Nip + Fab product did make my skin feel moisturized each night and upon waking in the morning without the sticky, tacky feeling.  In summary, this product may work for others, but is not one that I will be repurchasing.

  • When I announced that I was starting my own company I got mixed reviews. Although some people were really excited, there were plenty others who didn't support my decision. Naysayers accused me of being selfish, talked behind my back or worse - said that I had a "fake" business. I pushed past the negative vibes, disciplined myself to work hard, and focus on my goals. Today, I'm writing a personal post about 10 lessons I learned after starting my own business. Hint: how people react says a lot more about them, then it ever will about you. If you're thinking about starting a business, I hope this post helps you push past some obstacles. #yougotthis #wegoingallthewaythistime http://ow.ly/hN4n30gt6hr
