1. Start Off Strong with Something Fun

We all know what we should and shouldn’t do in the morning, but when we’re tired and can’t summon up any willpower, we fall into bad habits of social media scrolling and reality TV. What I like to do to stop myself from mindless scrolling is start out with something fun.

Think of something you enjoy that will make you excited to get up in the morning and start your day off right. For me, this is sometimes a little glass of chocolate milk before I do a yoga video or read a book. Other times it’s a bowl of fancy cereal I love that motivates me to get up and get going.

Try different things that will inspire you to get up and supercharge your mornings.

2. Get Out Anxiety with Morning Pages

You know those days when you wake up and you feel sick worrying about something? What a lousy way to start your day! Luckily, there is a cure for this morning-induced anxiety. It’s a little thing called morning pages and it can work wonders.

When we feel any emotion, we are thinking a lot of thoughts to back it up.

These thoughts can swirl around in our mind until we feel completely overwhelmed. To calm down this storm, turn to morning pages. This practice was started by Julia Cameron, who in my opinion is an artistic genius. She teaches people to get out a notebook first thing in the morning and write out any and every thought for 15 minutes.

This brain dump is designed to get all those swirling thoughts out of your head and onto paper, so you can stop feeling so anxious and get the clarity you need to supercharge your mornings and your whole day. Try it for one week!

3. Get Out of The House

I was never particularly interested in walking until now. It just feels good to get out of the house and do something for your body. I recently heard an interview with Dave Asprey of Bulletproof and he said that research shows you don’t need to work your body like crazy every day to be healthy. All you need is to walk 20 minutes a day 5 days a week and do a little HIIT the other two days. This made me feel a lot better about walking.

Because our jobs are sitting at a desk most of the day, we lose so much of what we can gain from nature. I love walking around and simply admiring the sky and how beautiful the sun looks coming in on the trees. Turn on your favorite podcast and go for a little walk before work. You might just find yourself inspired.

4. Read Something Meaningful

I’m a big fan of reading, especially YA fiction, but I’m not sure that’s the best thing to get me going in the morning. For many people, reading isn’t that enjoyable at all, but there is so much to be gained from it!

You can start improving yourself just a little each day if you start a habit of reading a few pages in the morning.

That’s all it takes! Find an interesting book, read a few pages, and put what you learned to use today. Continuously learning will keep you ahead of the game and maybe even prepare you for that next promotion.

5. Design Your Own Routine

I couldn’t possibly write about how to supercharge your mornings without mentioning the book that has changed thousands of people’s lives. The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod is a serious must-read and bonus, it’s short!

This book will teach you why your mornings are so important and what to do in your mornings to break out of the average to become extraordinary. I caught this one free on Kindle Unlimited and I was blown away. A morning routine doesn’t have to be super intense to help you become more positive and have a better life pretty much all around. If you’re at all interested in changing your morning routine, you must check this one out!

  • When I announced that I was starting my own company I got mixed reviews. Although some people were really excited, there were plenty others who didn't support my decision. Naysayers accused me of being selfish, talked behind my back or worse - said that I had a "fake" business. I pushed past the negative vibes, disciplined myself to work hard, and focus on my goals. Today, I'm writing a personal post about 10 lessons I learned after starting my own business. Hint: how people react says a lot more about them, then it ever will about you. If you're thinking about starting a business, I hope this post helps you push past some obstacles. #yougotthis #wegoingallthewaythistime http://ow.ly/hN4n30gt6hr
