Poke bowls are all the rage and for good reason. This Hawaiian traditional dish is not only tasty, but it’s also healthy. If you’re not a big fan of raw fish, turn away now. You can essentially put any protein in a bowl, but raw fish is what makes a poke bowl a poke bowl.
The word poke is actually a Hawaiian word meaning “to section” or “to slice or cut.” Typically the raw fish is sliced into medium sized dice. The carbohydrate can be rice, brown rice, quinoa or even barley. You then add a variety of sliced vegetables based on your choosing. I like to finish mine off with a drizzle of spicy aioli sauce.
